While basking in Scripture and contemplating the eternal are unquestionably rewarding, they are not passports to procrastination or inertia. There are tasks that need to be done in the real world. On the other hand, the times we feel most driven are the times we most need—and are least-inclined—to pause and breathe in the presence of the Holy Spirit. When we are tired or frantic it’s hard to see clearly what really needs to be done now and what can be postponed until tomorrow—or even indefinitely.
