How to Live with a Forgiving Heart

Forgiveness repairs and restores. Forgiveness moves beyond differences. Forgiveness challenges our inner need to be justified, in control and self-righteous even in the face of downright evil and sin. A person who lives with a forgiving heart cares more for the inherent dignity, mercy and restoration of another person (even to the person causing harm) than they do for retribution. God has a desire to bring people into relatedness, into reconciliation with one another. The spiritual practice of forgiveness is not easy, even with Jesus inspiring and helping us along. Yet, it is only in forgiving that we truly encounter holy peace in mind, body and soul.
