Station 9: Jesus Falls for the Third Time

Jesus Cross Lent

Presider: We adore you, O Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all of your churches throughout the whole world.

All: And we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Presider: Jesus, again, another fall. Here, your journey worsens. Surely this fall means near total exhaustion. Humanity has its limits and such torture breaks even the strongest. Reason falters as we ponder the mysteriousness of how you get up yet again to continue this gruesome way of the cross. Love alone must fuel you onward!

All: Lord Jesus, torture such as this would have exhausted most people.  But we are confident that your love for God, love for your mission, and love for us are what fuel your journey. Please help us understand more about this deep and abiding love. Help us share this love at the hospital bedside, at the prison bars and as we consider how to deal with a enemy. Thank you for your steadfast love. It is our only hope.
