Station 10: Jesus Is Stripped of His Clothes

Jesus Cross Lent

Presider: We adore you, O Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all of your churches throughout the whole world.

All: And we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Presider: Jesus, nearly everything has been taken and stripped from you. Left naked and exhausted you remind us of how frail humanity really is. Your endurance of such a radical form of capital punishment is terrifying and mysterious.  Yet, nothing can strip from you the divinity that is yours!

All: Lord Jesus, again we are embarrassed and ashamed. Being stripped naked in public is totally degrading. How quickly you went from healing the blind and engendering hope to the hopeless to being degraded and on the doorstep of death. Help us to endure the mockery of those who think being Christian is foolish. Help us to confidently hold the faith you have given us. Thank you for your consistent example of faithfulness to your mission!
