Here's to Strong Women

I grew up in a family of three girls, and my parents taught my sisters and me that we are capable of doing anything we put our minds to. It is a message that we all took to heart and have carried forward with us in our lives. My oldest sister is a scientist, touching lives through her research. Models of Faith: The Virgin Mary

When I was younger, it bothered me when Jesus addressed his Mother as “Woman” in the Gospels. This was long before I had grown into my own womanhood, or knew what it meant to be a woman. But God says, “come to me,” “trust in me,” “have faith the size of a mustard seed,” before you are worried and weak. He wants it all. He can handle it and he can give us the grace we need and the strength we need to follow his will. Trust in him and, above all, have faith.

Daily Prayers for Catholic Women

As women, we have so much work to do in our world. We are called to love, to serve, and to accept the responsibility of bringing others to Christ and Christ to one another. Our family, our spouses, our children, our co-workers, and all of the people in our lives need our love and attention. And they need good examples that they can follow in striving for holiness.
